me and my work

Working as a community nurse was my goal when I started my professional carreer.

I've enjoyed many years nursing all sorts of people at their own home.

The work has changed however.

We have less time for each patient.
We have far more administration, and the work at the consultation bureau, a place where we check babies and little children, isn't as close to the parents anymore.

Even there we had huge cut backs in time.
From 20 to 8 minutes!

So when I was asked to help out as a temporary nurse at a neonatology unit I immediately said "yes".
I requested to use all those extra hours I had worked as free hours and ued them at the hospital to see if I liked the job.

My former employer didn't want to see me go, so we compromised.

Now I work at both jobs 1/2 time and I love it!

I'm Renate.

I've been blogging for a couple of years.
When life became too bussy I lost my blog.

A friend motivated me to start blogging again.

I'm a nurse.

I've worked many years as a community nurse.
Recently I've decided to continue working as cn for 1/2 time and start 1/2 time at a neonatology unit.

Even though the works is emotionally heavy at times, I love to care for these little human beings with all my heart.

I hope blogging will be as enjoyable as it was in the past.
